A Day of Damsels

A day of damsels...with a few other things in between.

This shot turned out a little odd...still trying to figure it out...but I like it.

So Many Damsels!

So many damsels all in one day!

I like this one because the background are rocks beneath the creek.

Thankful for the Quiet Before the Zombies Arrived

Most of my hike today was wonderful!  When I arrived at the trail, I was the only car in the parking lot!  The birds were very active and I could enjoy their wonderful songs without the sounds of people shouting, children screaming or dogs barking.  I finished about three fourths of the trail before the "others" arrived.  The "others" makes it sound like they were aliens or zombies...but they were just people yapping on cell phones, or moms out with their kids hoping the strenuous hike would tire the little ones out so they would take a long afternoon nap.  I was thankful for the quiet time I was able to enjoy before the "others" joined me.  ;-)  When I left there were six cars in the parking lot.

There were a lot of damselflies out today.  I took quite a few pictures of different ones...here's the first.  More to come in future posts.

Last Night's Hike

Fungi and moss

A variety of blooms

Two spider webs.

This one was a little difficult to get a good shot of.  The trail was busy and I had to keep stepping out of the way to let others pass.  When they passed then the sun went behind a cloud.

These were my latest pictures...skipping my hike for tonight...so I better get hiking again soon.

Sunlight and Colors

Just ordinary subject matter, but like the sunlight illuminating the growth....light and airy.

A smattering of fungi growing on a tree trunk.  I like the shadows and background greenery.

Wow!  Such bright bold colors!

Once again, my bright neon damselfly.

Something Different

I know I've recently posted pictures of this or a similar plant, but every time I hike by there are more blooms than the one I posted previously.  So here is another picture...the colors show up better on this one.

Sometimes, you just have to watch for movement.  This picture turned out better than I expected.

I really like this one too...love the neon color and the wings.

Elegance and Lace

Simple, yet elegant.

A lovely cardinal that actually sat still long enough for me to get his picture.

Wish I could have gotten this a little sharper...reminds me of lace.
