More colorful fungi.

The day I took this picture, it had started to rain really hard.  This little guy was in the middle of the street as I left the park.  I pulled over and parked so I could move him out of harm's way.  I bet the little guy is still cursing at me.  I put him in the grass on the side of the road he had just come from.  If I wanted to be helpful, I could have at least put him on the side of the road he was headed to!

These are raccoons that were living in the area where my little Frances was living.  I'm so glad I caught her and brought her home, she's been such a joy!

I believe this is a sycamore leaf.  Along side my size 10 1/2 size shoe it was huge!

I love looking at things up close...to really take the time and study what it looks like.

Whether flowers or weeds, if they're pretty I'll take it's picture...especially if they're posing nicely for me.

Made me look!  How 'bout you?  I took a picture of this area many months ago.  Then I looked again from up on the trail....didn't know what those round "growths" were.  Someone was pretty clever placing golf balls on the fungi!

This is a Downy Woodpecker on our backyard suet feeder.  This year we are participating in a science project by Cornell University called Project Feeder Watch.  You record how many different species of bird visit your backyard over a two day period each week from November - March.  It's a very interesting and fun project.  Cornell supplies you with a poster of birds and other materials to help you identify the birds.  When we took this picture of the woodpecker, we knew it was a woodpecker but that was about it.  I'm really learning a lot through Project Feeder Watch.
